Endsleigh Art Fair
The picturesque Hotel Endsleigh proved a perfect backdrop for the highly anticipated Endsleigh Art Fair. It ran from 19 to 22 November and was held in the beautiful stables at this glorious location in the scenic Tamar Valley, on the edges of Dartmoor. All artists from our network. Catherine’s ‘Strength and Fragility’ series takes skeleton magnolia leaves as a source of inspiration. She has drawn, stitched, repaired, and printed with dessicated leaves collected from a pink tulip magnolia, and preserved these with silver acrylic to highlight sparkling strength.

Over 200 people and four Associate Artists of Signficant Seams co-created an installation evocative of the inside and outside of a home – with three patchwork quilts. The individual patches tell the myriad stories of the various makers lockdown experiences.

The Emerging Artist Bursary scheme aims to nurture new talent and to encourage bursary winners to take the next steps in their career. Participation in Devon Open Studios, running from 9 – 24 September 2023, is funded for each winner, and successful artists are offered support to raise their profile. One bursary winner is selected for The Joanna Radford Award, and will receive a further grant towards materials.

taking their first steps into professional arts practice,
returning to creative practice after a career break or change,
Finding treasure… It’s Wednesday and often described as hump day. How can you not feel hopeful when there are beautiful things to seek and find.
