Kate Gold is a Dartmoor based mixed-media artist, painter and poet. Since a child she has loved to create and has always been inspired by the natural world and landscapes both in her art and writing.
As a mature student Kate gained a B.A. Creative Arts and an M.A Creative Writing at Bath Spa University. She went on to be a tutor for art and creative writing in HMP Bristol and to work with Barnardo’s Family Centre running art groups for children from families in crisis.
Since moving to Dartmoor in 2018, she has felt the wide skies and stretching moorland influence her art. Using her own printed and painted papers to create texture and atmosphere, her mixed media collages reflect the love and connection she feels to the land she lives on.
Her latest collection, ‘Down by the Sea’ is inspired by the Cornish coastline.
