Introduction

Devon is a creative county with a flourishing cultural ecosystem of galleries, museums, arts organisations, creative industries and businesses; supported by a rich heritage and a stunning environment. Artists sit at the very centre of this cultural vitality. They provide creative colour and inspiration; help to enrich communities, and make Devon a better place to live, work and visit. Yet, the geographic nature of Devon can present artists with many challenges, including: access to opportunities, visibility and connection, in addition to larger economic pressures. Devon Artist Network seeks to address these issues by championing the diverse range of artists working across the county and providing a vital connection point to help artists develop, sustain and grow.

One of our key events is Devon Open Studios held every September, when a variety of venues and studios across Devon open their doors and welcome visitors to see first hand their creative spaces. From painting to printmaking, pottery, glass, jewellery, sculpture, metal work, furniture making and more – there’s something to captivate every taste and interest.
