We are currently seeking local, regional, established, and emerging artists to participate in our St Luke’s Guiding Lights art trail by designing one of our large 2.4-metre-high lighthouse sculptures.
St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth is set to transform the city with an extraordinary, large-scale art trail, illuminating our senses and igniting our imaginations. Following on from the popular Elmer’s Big Parade in 2019, we are de-light-ed to announce our next hugely exciting art trail, St Luke’s Guiding Lights.
Imagine an eye-catching display of more than 40 large lighthouse sculptures featuring individually designed artwork by local and regional artists: part of a trail that will weave its way across the city centre, waterfront and surrounding areas, for ten weeks in the summer of 2026.
Please find attached our Artist Call Out Flyer and Artist Pack for distribution.
This art trail is more than just a celebration of creativity – it’s an opportunity to bring art and community together for a truly meaningful cause.
We are working in conjunction with the internationally renowned creative producers Wild in Art, to create an art trail that will be engaging for all to enjoy and is set to attract crowds of visitors to the city’s streets.
And there’s a beautiful ending to this story, after the trail concludes, these one-of-a-kind sculptures will be auctioned off, raising vital funds for St Luke’s.
Why get involved?
This is an opportunity for artists to showcase their vision and transform the city’s spaces that inspires and captivates everyone who visits.
Your work will be recognised across all printed material, including the sculpture plaque, official trail map, website, and mobile app.
If your design is selected, you will receive an honorarium of £1,000 upon completion of your artwork.
