I studied Fine Art in Bristol and completed my MA at the University of Sunderland back in the North East, mainly to have access to the print room!
I work with various methods of printmaking and mixed media; I find the immediacy and elements of ‘chance’ in printmaking both exciting and a challenge.
My current work is derived from drawings of the Devon coastline, which is a new environment for me. They allow me to explore mark-making and colour through the use of collage, paint, and various drawing materials. I love to scratch or sand back the surface to reveal what is underneath to reveal one of the earlier layers. The surface texture of a piece of work is important to me.
I currently work from my studio at Seale Hayne, Newton Abbot, where I also teach drawing and printmaking.
