Henrietta is a member of the art collective CROW, Exeter.

Her art practice is eclectic and diverse in terms of styles and experimentation with consistent undercurrents; subject themes relating to relationships between experienced physical environments and subjective interpretations and memory; a sense of place and facing the self, the physical world and the spiritual human experience.
Henrietta works in series' where a collection of drawings and paintings are worked on simultaneously often with each series focusing on particular processes, techniques and colours that reflect or challenge the themes and subjects.

She is investigating painting techniques and spontaneous drawing that lend themselves to expressions of the subconscious, spiritual visions of the physical world and related experience rather than realistic depiction of surroundings.

In 2014 Henrietta returned to the studio and produced a body of charcoal and graphite drawings focusing on landscape and in particular the surrounding hedgerows and trees. Artistic Statement:

I am not about creating realistic imagery but investigating expressions of experience as a single being and as part of the collective human experience. My work has developed consistent ways of working: drawing from life - series' of works developed in studio simultaneously usually focused on an aspect of oil painting or a particular technique. Drawing is the foundation of my art practice and my teaching.
If thinking of key words and phrases in relation to my work I want to say: change, relocation, pathways, tracks, corners, alchemy, portals, sense of place together with sense of self, landscape and human.
