I have been a practising artist for more than thirty years. My work is in oil and acrylics, mixed media, handmade paper collage and printmaking.
I am largely self taught, though a Foundation course in Art, and more than several years of attending printmaking and painting classes at Dartington Hall helped hone my practice. I have an Open University honours degree in Art History and Humanities.
I was born in Malawi, and inherited a wanderlust and a love of adventure. I have been lucky enough to travel to, and live in, many fascinating countries, and my work is often stimulated by the different cultures and landscapes I encounter. My journeys to Ethiopia at the beginning of 2020, Bosnia in 2023, and Brazil in 2024, are reflected in my most recent body of work.
I have taught a collage/mixed media class here at my studio for 20 years.
Exhibitions
Over the years, I have shown my work in numerous public exhibitions in Devon and Cornwall, in galleries, both solo shows and collaborations, and in Open Studios events. I have completed many private commissions, a number of which have been large rural and cityscape mixed media collages. I have work in Australia and America, as well as Britain.
