Artist statement

Discover Rachel’s colourful, quirky landscapes full of bold forms and playful textures. Sue’s intricate etchings, collagraphs and lino prints bring rich layered depth to her work. Meanwhile Lyn’s bold eclectic oils burst with energy and expression. Together their diverse styles create a vibrant, dynamic showcase of artistic talent.

Extended Bio

Sue Coleman is an artist and printmaker based in Brixham. Printmaking in traditional mediums is her current passion and focuses on interesting and emotive landscapes, buildings and figurative images. The portfolio traces her travels both at home and abroad, and evokes memories of those times spent with loved ones in the places we cherished. Rachel McLaughlin, is a dedicated artist who recently committed to pursuing her art full-time after years of balancing it with teaching. Based in Devon, she draws inspiration from the stunning local landscapes and her travels across Asia, particularly China, Vietnam, and Cambodia. Her work begins with direct observation, evolving into abstraction to capture the atmosphere and emotional essence of the landscapes and the people she encounters. Lyn Anderson is a local artist now living in Brixham .She was educated in York and then trained In Art and Ceramics at Derby Training College. Whilst teaching Art and Ceramics to adults and children in schools and colleges ,Lyn also produced and exhibited her own pottery and paintings .Lyn was Head of Art at Cokethorpe a private school in Witney . Her earlier paintings reflect the inspiring and exotic images collected on her travels in India ,Africa and Nepal with a particular interest in elephants . Moving to Devon has been inspirational .Her love of images plein air to capture the light ,colour and textures seen on coastal walks and Dartmoor . Capturing the movement ,light and reflections on the water to energise and enhance the final painting is a joy to paint . Lyn paints in oils , acrylics and watercolour plus mixed media . Exhibitions include . Open Studios Oxford Art Weeks 2005 and 2013.Private exhibitions at West Ox Arts Gallery at Bampton Oxon plus anual submissions to local art societies in Oxon and since 2016 In Brixham , Torquay and Buckfast .
