Artist statement

I am a mixed media artist, building up layers of hand decorated papers, colourful acrylic paints and inks, collage, crayon and pastel. My still life paintings, are created with an intention to "bring the outside in", to give heart, a sense of joy, and a narrative. My aim is to create authentic artworks that engage viewers.

Extended Bio

I am a mixed media artist, building up layers of hand decorated papers, acrylic paints and inks, collage, crayon and pastel, to create paintings full of colour and pattern, that reflect my love of textiles and my home life nestling in Devon’s green landscape, just a stone’s throw from the coastline. My paintings can be a rainbow of colour, inspired by nature while allowing my imagination to wander and create. Still-life paintings, include my collection of vases and bowls, filled with flowers and fruit. Using elements from the kitchen table I develop my paintings with a splash of imagination and a nod to my love of tapestry, patchwork and embroidery. Colour is a principle element in my work, applied in layers, and created with an intention to "bring the outside in", to give heart, a sense of joy, and a narrative. My aim is to create authentic artworks that engage viewers and allow them to connect emotionally.
