Artist statement
I make artwork using acrylics, metal leaf (gold, faux gold, silver, aluminium, copper) and shellac varnish on plywood panels or canvas. I do bookbinding, crafting handmade or hand bound books, journals and sketchbooks, greetings cards, notebooks, bookmarks. I make a few garden flags or pennants.
Extended Bio
Most of my artwork forms The Alchemy Collection - decorative panels on plywood or canvas using acrylics, real or faux gold leaf, silver or aluminium leaf or copper leaf, with shellac or wax finishes. One of my paintings was commissioned for The Krug Room at the Dorchester Hotel, London.
I enjoy making journals, notebooks and sketchbooks using quality papers, fabric and ribbon, including preloved materials. I moved to Devon last August from the New Forest area, where I previously took part in Hampshire Open Studios with a group of artist friends.
