Sophia trained in Fine Art and makes sculpture and installations. She's particularly interested in interaction and participation. She has recently started printmaking as a form of drawing.
Alongside her own practice, she designs sets, props and costume in devised theatre and dance, making site-specific and touring productions, installations and exhibitions. She has shown work nationally and internationally.
She sites work in diverse locations, inside and outside, working in different scales, from hand-sized pieces to work that occupies whole buildings, using materials ranging from steel and concrete to elastic, fabric and paper. She runs workshops in educational and community settings, for participants from pre-school age to the elderly, with diverse needs and experience.
