Lynn Bailey - Printmaker Bio

Lynn Bailey is a printmaker inspired by bugs, “weeds”, Devon ecology and how we and the organisms we live alongside interact and shape the environment. She uses a wide range of printmaking techniques – both traditional and innovative, often creating complex one off prints using mainly intaglio processes with mono print techniques, using common plants either foraged from hedgerows or cultivate for the purpose.

Lynn’s original training in the 1980s was in conservation of prints and drawings and gave a solid foundation in the traditional techniques of the ‘old masters’ and an appreciation of quality materials.

After a while working in animation and a trip around Africa, Lynn went back to college to study Fine Art and gravitated towards printmaking again and become instrumental in the setting up of Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter.

In addition to teaching printmaking at Double Elephant, Lynn also offers an editioning service – printing other people’s work to a high standard
