As a self-taught artist inspired by the dramatic landscapes of the Jurassic Coast, my seascapes offer a unique perspective of the coastline from Goodrington, looking out towards Churston and Brixham. This vantage point provides a constant source of inspiration, allowing me to explore the interplay between the natural world and the human experience. The raw beauty and power of the sea, the red sand cliffs, and the ever-changing tides have been a defining influence on my work. My seascapes are a reflection of my daily connection to the coast. These paintings are not merely representations of nature; they are expressions of my own emotions and experiences.
Beyond the natural world, I am also drawn to the complexities of human relationships and the lasting impact of family dynamics. My figurative works delve into themes of narcissism and its generational effects, exploring how these toxic patterns can shape individual destinies. Through my art, I aim to offer a poignant commentary on the human condition and the potential for healing and growth.
My artistic journey has been marked by a constant exploration and evolution. From my early days as a self-taught artist to my recent completion of a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree and my ongoing MA studies at Arts University Plymouth, I have continuously sought to push the boundaries of my practice.
