Jenny Nash Contemporary Artist Bio

I live in Devon and paint impressionist seascapes and landscapes in acrylic and oil.

My art is inspired by my surroundings - the magnificent coastline of Devon and Somerset, views of local farmland and the Exmoor and Dartmoor national parks.

My painting style is loose and expressionistic, reflecting how the land and seascapes make me feel.

Collectors have said ‘That’s exactly how the sea makes me feel’, ‘I love the feeling I get from the painting’ and ‘You’ve captured the mood perfectly’.

I often sketch, draw and photograph while out walking and then use the images for inspiration, but generally I paint what I remember, how I felt when out.

My seascapes are often larger pieces that reflect the sense of movement and power of the sea; my landscapes tend to be smaller, reflecting the quickly changing atmosphere across the moors and farmland.
