I am a professional freelance illustrator based in Liverton near beautiful Dartmoor. The moors, natural landscapes and historic buildings throughout Devon are some of the inspirations that I explore in my artwork.
I enjoy working with clients on a wide variety of illustration, design and website projects (I come from a website design and content management background with many years' experience), including packaging (Roly's Fudge, Figgy's Puddings), while developing my own range of illustrated products available in my online shop and several local independent stockists.
One of my most popular areas of work are my clay 'cute food' characters which are fun for both big and small kids! These have branched out into stationery designs as well as my original clay sculpture handmade desk buddies. These often incorporate jokes into the characters' names which usually fly over the heads of children but adults get them - I enjoy a pun!
I also work with customers to create commissioned illustrations of wedding venues and people's homes, capturing the character of a location is a challenge I enjoy.
I run a kids' art club during term times at Pom Stitch Tassel in Bovey Tracey, which is great fun - we focus on a project theme each half term and aim to build children's confidence in experimenting, trying new things and creating all kinds of artwork.
I love meeting fellow creatives and customers at various artisan markets around the South West which I attend regularly throughout the year.
