Cyanotype is a primitive Photographic process pioneered by Anna Atkins in the 1840's Using two chemicals that when mixed together become Sun Sensitive. Painting onto Paper or Cotton Bridget makes Handmade Sun Printed Books, Prints, Cards, and Bespoke Lampshades. Sun Printing and Lampshade Workshops are available at her Studio. Open by Appointment all year.
During the pandemic Bridget discovered Wet Cyanotype a new technique incorporating soap suds into her Cyanotype work, these prints require a day in the Sunshine to develop and create wonderful textures, each one being a completely unique one off Print.
These are available as original prints , but also now made into Digitally printed cards.
The start of 2023 was fantastic with an amazing Article in the Landscape Magazine about Bridget's Cyanotype Lampshades , titled Natures Fragility Transposed by Light, you can find a link to the article on Bridget's website.
