Totnes printmaking South HamsMy work is inspired by the textures and patterns found in the landscape. I am drawn to the beauty of the rolling countryside, the narrow hedgerow lanes, and coastal paths in Devon. An idea may be sparked by the way the wind has blown a tree, or a path leading into the distance. I try to highlight the intricate
patterns in the natural world that are easily overlooked or quickly forgotten. My process begins with sketches and photographs, which I transforms into layered designs for my prints. The technique of reduction linocut suits my approach, as
I builds up colours in layers with each stage, and immerses myself in this detailed process.
