Member Showcase

This month we are thrilled to introduce Jenny Pery, who is possibly one of our longest members! Jenny has been a member of Devon Artist Network since it first began in its current form in 2004, as well as taking part in its predecessor ‘9 Days of Art’ nearly 25 years ago!

Jenny is a printmaker and now concentrates on Monotypes and Wood Engravings. Most of her work derives from sketches made on travels around the world, creating Monotypes for landscape images, while the rare creatures observed in places such as Madagascar and Kenya inspire her wood engravings.

Jenny recently got in touch to tell us about her new artist book ENDANGERED. The book is exquisitely made, hand sewn and bound, and features a wood-engraved alphabet depicting various endangered species, with Jenny describing the process as a real labour of love.

Jenny is a member of SWAc, the PSA, and the 21 Group, and usually has a wood engraving in the national exhibition of the Society of Wood Engravers.

She regularly features in exhibitions across Devon and will be taking part in Devon Open Studios this September.
