Artist statement
Kushuma is an international artist, who has exhibited widely and offers abstract, landscape and still life paintings, that are inspired by the beauty of light, colour and form, using various media on canvas and paper. Enjoy visiting her studio in this stunning Dartmoor location, which is also a rich source of inspiration.
Extended Bio
I feel there is no separation between form and formless, there is just the meeting of colour - the land meets the sky, one colour meets another. There is so much splendour - diversity - brilliance. Nature expresses itself whether noticed or not - quietly it carries on.
I am not merely an observer of the natural world, but feel very much part of it - I am living alongside everything else, everything existing and expressing itself at the same time.
To be in life alongside the beauty that surrounds me inspires me every day - it brings me to the point of attempting to express that joy through mark-making and painting.
