We create wild colour specimens from our letterpress studio on Dartmoor, combining traditional ink-making with endangered heritage craft techniques that begin with sustainable foraging across the high moor. The plant-derived colours are reactive – they change as they interact with air, paper, and their modifiers. In contrast, the letterpress text is printed in synthetic inks as a nod to the permanent mark humans leave on the landscape.
Princetown Press is a collaboration between Emma Hogbin and Jon Palmer. With combined degrees in Environmental Science, and Sustainable Product and Furniture Design, makers Emma Hogbin and Jon Palmer bring a unique perspective to the endangered heritage craft of letterpress.
