Artist statement

Detailed representational landscape oil paintings featuring river scenes of the lower Exe Valley, as well as coastal scenes with an emphasis on skies. All paintings are on panel, varnished and framed.

Extended Bio

I am an artist who paints realistic representational landscapes in oils, drawing inspiration from the rivers and countryside near to my home village of Stoke Canon in the Exe Valley, East Devon. I came to painting by chance late in life and have no formal art training and have never considered myself to be arty, but nevertheless with an appreciation of fine detailed landscape artworks. Although largely self taught I have also learned many of my techniques and gained experience through the aid of online art school. All my paintings are original works of art and there are no prints.
