Artist statement

Mark Jessett is a painter working on paper, interested in nature, turmoil and the esoteric. He uses intense colour to conjure depth, movement, confusion and calm. He studied at Goldsmiths’, was commissioned by Hospital Rooms in 2022, and had work at Hauser & Wirth in 2023. He helped found the N-E-W Art Group and co-directs Field System Gallery in Ashburton.
