Artist statement
Tableware and ceramic sculptures are what I enjoy making most. In this event I plan to showcase work ,made along with my daughter Sita Pollard. We look forward to blending my forms and Sita's brush work in a range of glazed ceramic pieces.
Extended Bio
I began my ceramic journey in 1999 at The Golden Bridge pottery,in Pondicherry,India. I have recently been living in Totnes, Devon. I have set up a small studio on The High Street, where I make a range of tableware and sculptures, inspired by nature. My love for the forest, the sea and all creatures in these magical spaces, come through,in my work. After years of wood firings in a reduced kiln atmosphere, my relationship with an electric kiln, has just begun. I look forward to the surprises, this kiln will offer me and exploring it's boundaries.I look forward to collaborating with my daughter Sita Pollard, a wonderful painter and budding ceramic artist herself.
