Artist statement

Focusing on the individual trees form, the naturally captivating end grain detail and distinct growth features I design and make freestanding pieces of furniture which show the entire life of the tree. I focus on making coffee and side tables amongst other bespoke commissions. We use locally and sustainably sourced wind fallen trees.

Focusing on the individual trees form and the naturally captivating end grain detail and distinct growth features I design and make freestanding pieces of furniture which show the entire life of the tree. I focus on making coffee and side tables amongst other bespoke commissions. We use locally and sustainably sourced wind fallen trees, giving provenance and a wonderful story surrounding the furniture. As the trees used dictate the character, a limited batch can be taken from one tree, all unique but connected through the life story of the tree. Handcrafted using a variety of techniques and materials to enhance the wood. Amongst these, hand-made metalwork following the curves of the table tops. Resin is often used to strengthen and produce beautiful yet practical pieces furniture. The end result being stunning feature pieces of furniture/natural art.
