This piece is part of my Global Warrior collection (I am their artist in residence) and it has a double inference that highlights the impact of human waste on the polar ice caps and, more pertinent to the theme of a journey, celebrates the expedition of the Ice Warrior team to the Pole of Inaccessibility (the pole at the most northerly point of the globe), so named as there is no recorded evidence of human travel to this point ever.

This amazing and brave team will pull sleds carrying living provisions from the very furthest point of Canada for 800 miles north in order to collect data from what should be a totally virgin area regarding the human impact on the Arctic region.

This is extremely important research (Nasa is very interested in receiving findings) and I am immensely proud to work as their artist in residence.
