Yvonne is a Devon-based textile artist whose creativity has been stitched into her life since she was seven years old, when she first learned to sew. What began as a childhood skill quickly grew into a lifelong love affair with thread, fabric, and the quiet magic of making.
Yvonne describes herself as someone who “draws with a sewing machine.” Using free-motion stitching, layered threads, and paint, she creates richly textured pictures and distinctive lampshades that celebrate the landscapes around her. Living in Devon, she finds endless inspiration in the rolling countryside, dramatic coastline, and ever-changing colours of nature. Fields, hedgerows, sea light, and wild skies often find their way into her work in delicate stitches and expressive mark-making.
Alongside creating her textile artwork, Yvonne also hosts sewing retreats in Devon, welcoming others to slow down, learn new skills, and enjoy the creative inspiration of the countryside.It's a special time to get away from it all, bring your sewing or other creative pursuits and ejoy company with other like minded women.
