I am a self-taught sculptor based in Devon, working under the name Walking with the Woodsman. My practice is built on a 22-year career in the REME, where I specialized in the mechanical engineering of Main Battle Tanks. I now apply that same technical discipline and meticulous eye for structural integrity to the natural world. My work focuses on the transformation of complex root systems and driftwood. I utilize advanced chemical stabilization, resin-mounting, and precision finishing to turn decaying organic matter into high-standard sculptural pieces. My current collection includes large-scale architectural works and bespoke commissions that integrate custom-etched glass with raw timber. Visitors can find my work through independent studio showings and selected exhibitions. I am a member of the Devon Artist Network and am currently developing a series of major "anchor" pieces that bridge the gap between technical engineering and organic form.
