Tim is a painter, collagist and printmaker based in North Devon. For the past decade he has worked as a military history illustrator, working with museums, publishers and private clients. However, more recently Tim has decided to take a dramatic new direction in his work. Working mainly in watercolour, gouache and collaging techniques, Tim's new work is inspired by his love of architecture, specifically the relationship between buildings and place. This often means that his work is focussed on a specific moment in the story of a building or monument, or perhaps buildings that could be considered forgotten or lost.
The connection between memory and place that a building or monument represents has also inspired Tim in other areas. He holds a PhD in Architecture for a thesis that explored the relationship between memory, landscape and architecture in the British war cemeteries of the Great War.
Tim lives and works from his studio on a National Trust estate with his wife Kate and their two young sons.
