My work is derived from exploring the outdoors thro walking, cycling and climbing. I have developed a practice where I collect stones from various locations...mountains, rivers, beaches, cliffs... which are labelled and archived. These are my starting points for ideas, and also provide most of my main materials. The varied geology of our country, especially in the south west, means I have quite a range of colours when I ground them down. The rocks also reflect aspects of our history, as well as being fragments of varied landforms and rich geology.
