Rooted in the wild landscape of Dartmoor and the Devon coastline, my work brings vitality and a sense of space — like opening a window onto air, weather and light.
Rather than depicting specific places, my paintings capture the feeling of being in the landscape: the lift of wind across the moor, the hush after rain, the steady resilience of trees shaped by time. Layered marks, softened edges and traces of movement invite you to slow down and look again. The work reveals itself gradually, offering space for reflection as you live alongside it.
Each piece is made through an intuitive, hands-on process, often using tools crafted from natural materials gathered on the moor itself. This close relationship with place brings a sense of the handmade and the elemental into the work — something felt as much as seen. A lifelong engagement with pattern, surface and making underpins how the work is created, allowing experience and intuition to work together without force.
My journey back to painting followed a period of illness, when time in nature and the act of making became essential rather than optional. That experience continues to shape my work today. My paintings hold space for rest, resilience and reconnection — offering not just a visual focal point, but a steady companion in everyday life.
For collectors, these artworks embody a way of seeing and living that is rooted in presence rather than noise. They help shape a home that feels calm, meaningful and deeply personal — where the walls reflect thoughtfulness, attention and an enduring relationship with the living world beyond them.
