I draw my inspiration mostly from landscape and nature. My work conveys the energy, texture, movement and effects of light in landscape and simplicity of line in other subjects.
The expansion of my work from painting into textiles grew from painting on silk. I began to embellish my painted silk with machine embroidery, hand embroidery and applique. These experimentations led to exploring textures, layering and mixed media on textiles.
In recent years I have been hand Printmaking in wood and lino.
As a mature student I completed a five year part time Fine Arts degree at Plymouth University where a lot of my course work was textile based.
