Monterey, Little John’s Cross Hill
Exeter painting, printmaking ExeterI am an artist printmaker engaging energetically with the landscape around me. I am interested in documenting my relationship with the wilderness of Dartmoor; it’s familiar yet wild places, open spaces, uninhabited dwellings, ancient forests.
I use a diversity of techniques to explore the memory and emotions connected to these places and my encounters with them. Printmaking (monoprint, etching) forms a launchpad to larger more expressive paintings and drawings. The play of light and colour are paramount to the shifting ambiguity of the forms and spaces I chose to inhabit in my work.
