Carving stone and teaching the skills to others has been my career path for the last 22 years. I am a trained stone carving artist and tutor with years of experience in the arts.
Sculpture is my main passion and l have continued to express my ideas through this medium since l left my B.A honours degree in Kent. l then carried on to be trained as a stone carver for a further two years in architectural carving which included masonry skills and hand letter cutting.I currently run my stone carving course programme Sculptworks from my studio on the Dartington Hall Estate.
When l am not teaching ,l continue with my own practice.
My carving style is figurative, l am interested in the human condition both Spiritually and Physically l also have an interest in mythological folklore .
I carve and finish my sculptures by using only hand tools, carving is a sacred spiritual act of creating and carving directly and intuitively helps me form a strong bond and commitment to the stone l am working with.
