Karen Murrell
I am driven largely by curiosity about materials and visually by pattern and form. Much of the work I share is about making shapes and forms from copper and using enamel to add colour and gloss. I am starting to combine that with wood more often now. I have a lifelong interest in pattern and am often inspired by historical artifacts and architecture and the way different cultures use pattern.

This year I am exhibiting at Open Studios 2026 with Moorland Makers at Ullacombe Farm, near Bovey Tracey. We are a diverse selection of 9 skilled designer makers in a lovely barn. Do come by and visit - we look forward to seeing you there.
