I create art out of often overlooked items. Our local beaches are full of beach treasures and I love putting together to show how many wonderful colours and forms that can be found. Many pieces include shells, seaglass and sea pottery to more unusual things like pieces of old clay pipe, pebbles with fossilised corals, and old brass buttons.
My egg shell art take many, many hours with many, many breakages! Local, free range eggs are used. Each one is carefully trimmed and painted with alcohol inks and acrylics then finished with gold leaf. Art from a humble chicken egg!
