I am inspired by landscape and its underlying sculptural processes and also the natural forces of growth and decay.
Growing up on a farm, with its muddy tyre ruts, enormous skies and massive perspectives; studying for a fine art sculpture degree in a highly abstract and conceptual art department; and then teaching art to secondary school children have all helped to give me a very wide interest in all sorts of art work. I’m always keen to experiment and see what happens! I love this way of working as it usually leads to new and unexpected results, which in turn make new and unexpected connections in my brain!
I am a member of Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter and find the very physical processes of printmaking work well with my ideas.
