Joss lives and works right in the middle of Dartmoor at 1325ft. Her pots embody the pull of the moorland landscape and are made for those who love Dartmoor to use every day at home. Clays are quarried from the moor, granite is mixed with ash and clay to make glazes; pots are thrown slowly on a momentum wheel and they are fired in a wood-fuelled kiln. Each pot is a little piece of the moor for you to take home and remember your time here.
Courses are held regularly at Powdermills pottery, teaching how to use the potter's wheel.
Cream teas are served in the summer months (homemade soup in the winter ones).
