I create artwork that brings birds, plants and habitats into homes.
Spending time in the natural world brings me peace, joy and energy and this is what I hope to communicate in my artwork and printmaking I hope that others will share that too.
The space and freedom of landscapes is important to me, but I am drawn again and again to the small details close by. I love to notice little things, fascinating details and quirks – and love the challenge of bringing those elements into my prints to share with others.
My current work tends to return to linocut and collagraph printing, exploring the varying boldness and fluidity within each printing method. I work from my own sketches and photographs to create a drawing of my initial intentions to transfer to the printing blocks. It’s rare for me to follow the plan in detail as I like to allow the cutting process to find its own direction and flow.
