Jilly loves the way ceramics express the touch and soul of the maker. She aims to instill calm in her work using simple, natural shapes and thoughtful design. She makes small batches of work in her teaching studio in Moretonhampstead on Dartmoor, through explorative play and critical review of their function.
Throwing mostly in fine porcelain, she sometimes adds unexpected double handles or playful internal arcs. She uses her own glazes to reveal naked or polished clay. Jilly high-fires in an electric kiln (oxidation) using renewable resources.
Jilly is a member of the SW Green Maker Initiative and Find A Maker - a specially selected member of curated fine makers.
