Crediton basketry, wood Mid DevonJane is a professional basket maker based in Mid Devon. She makes, sells and teaches throughout the South West. She is passionate about protecting the knowledge of our traditional rural crafts that are so much a part of our heritage. She likes to get people enthused to work with willow and rush, these versatile, sustainable materials.
Her background is in arts and crafts. Having studied art, design and furniture making, worked in traditional timber framing and dabbled in stone masonry and stained glass, she then became hooked on basket making, mainly learning from the much respected Gloucestershire basket maker Sheila Wynter.
