Totnes ceramics, sculpture South HamsI make all manner of 3D work in ceramics and float between functional ware and sculpture. I hand build, use slip cast and occasionally throw too.
The shapes of my tableware are inspired by my love of the contour lines on an OS map used often on my many walks along the coast or up on Dartmoor. I love the contrast the black clay gives to the textured glazes that to me reflect the colours I see in nature.
I am keen to ensure that the visual interaction with my ceramics is met with enjoyable functionality.
I completed a ceramics degree as a mature student in Brighton and after a commercial hiatus am now a full time artist and maker.
