Brenda Thomas from Budleigh Salterton, creates colourful textile pictures. She is inspired by her walks on the coastal path with her dog, who often appears in her work.
The pictures are built up using scraps of fabric, many recycled, secured with detailed stitching.
Brenda has lived in Devon for most of her life and discovered her naive, playful style of work after retiring from a busy career in social work. Her original textile pieces have been exhibited around the country and several have won national awards.
Giclee prints and greetings cards capture all the detail of the original textile pieces.
Brenda gives talks, showing many of her colourful pieces, and runs workshops at craft centres and for various groups in the South West.
