Realist, figurative sculpture has the power to stop us in our tracks and make us reflect on the human condition and our place in the world”. Andrew Sinclair MRSS

Andrew’s superb sense of design and composition is renowned – he captures the essence of his subjects in every commission, weaving their life’s narrative into the sculpture design itself. His sculptures are unique in their highly skilled attention to detail.
He was honoured to be awarded the commission for the Duke of Wellington’s Regimental Memorial Sculpture, which was unveiled by the Duke of Wellington in Halifax on Friday 17th May 2019. Brigadier Andrew Meek stated:

“Once unveiled it was clear to all that the memorial tells the history of the Regiment in an intriguing manner but at the same time is genuinely unique: there is no other like it that has been commissioned in recent years. Furthermore, the piece has an artistic merit of its own which along with the incredibly intricate and accurate detail means that a new standard for memorials of this type has been set both in terms of scale and complexity.

In summary the committee could not have selected a better artist for this commission. In undertaking it, Andrew Sinclair has more than met the original brief and for this the committee are forever grateful.”

Andrew’s other recent public commission, the life-size bronze sculpture of David Bowie was unveiled in Market Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire on 25th March 2018. It was a world-wide media event, with news of the unveiling being broadcast as far away as Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Canada.

Andrew is very happy to discuss smaller commissions as well - sculptures of animals and personal portraits are his forte.

Andrew’s impressive catalogue of work graces many distinguished historical properties and public places such as the Royal Box at Ascot and Crosby Hall (Sir Thomas More’s old palace in London), including multiple commissions for the late publisher Felix Dennis’s Garden of Heroes and Villains, most importantly his life & ¼ bronze memorial sculpture and the life-size bronze of Durer’s Rhino.
