Alison Summerfield B A (Hons) SWAc Hon
Alison paints in oils, although charcoal and inks are often employed in her work.
She revels in the physical and instinctive process of working with the paint, using both knife and brush. Her paintings are predominantly an emotional reaction to nature, the landscape and coast.
She works from sketches, photographs and memory.
She has worked for various art publications, launched magazines, and continues to promote artists, and source artworks for homes and offices. She is a Trustee and honorary member of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts.
Alison collaborates with leading contemporary artist Simeon Stafford, and has recently compiled a book on his work. She has also self-published 8 children’s books.
In addition to private sales her paintings sell in galleries across the South West.
