‘Resurgence’ journeyed to me.  It was part of an oak tree that was washed down in floodwater, near my studio. The trunk was wedged and directing water to undermine the bank. It was too heavy to remove but I could winch it upright. So, I put on wellies and safety gear and then carved it in situ.  Normally I work from a maquette but this time I enjoyed responding to the textures and flow in the wood.
