Art and Energy CIC Bio

The Art and Energy Collective is a group of artists, makers, thinkers and tinkerers who want to use our skills to respond to the climate emergency.

We specialise in designing creative engagement and participatory art activities that help people connect with energy projects that affect t their lives.

ART and ENERGY CIC was established in 2018.

We made the UK's first solar panel artworks which generate enough electricity to power a mobile phone or laptop.

Throughout 2020 and 2021 over 59,000 participants from the UK and overseas were inspired by moths and helped to make our award winning artwork 'Moths to a Flame' which was displayed in Glasgow for COP26. This multi-disciplinary project explored our relationship with energy and asked us to heal rather than harm our earth.

We have developed a new mass participation project How to Bury the Giant which invites people to explore miniature mossy forests and find inspiration to take action.

We use the power of art to:
help restore some moorland
influence decision makers
make green energy
celebrate positive action
reduce carbon emissions
raise funds to support people in fuel poverty
